Elmer Wilson - Class Of 1969

Elmer S. Wilson Jr., 51, of Mechanicsville, VA, claimed the promise of the Resurrection on March 7, 2003.  A self-employed certified public accountant, he was the treasurer of the Ashland District of the UnitedMethodist Church. Born and raised in Hampton, Va.
Mr. Wilson was a proud graduate of Virginia Tech, with bachelors and masters degrees in accounting. As an avid historian, he was the Chaplain of the William Latane’ Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hampton, Va., and affiliate member of Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, the Rev. Charlene R. Beethoven; his sons, Ryan and Philip Beethoven-Wilson of Mechanicsville. The family will receive friends at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday. Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 8209 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park, Hanover, Va. A celebration of Elmer’s life will follow at Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church.
